UPSC IAS Preliminary Exam Application Form 2020 has been released on February 12, 2020. Candidates can register for IAS 2020 Exam at the official website – upsc.gov.in. The last day to fill IAS Application Form 2020 is March 3, 2020. Only candidates satisfying IAS2020 Eligibility can apply for UPSC CSE 2020 Exam.

  • IAS Application Fees is INR 100 for General, OBC and EWS categories whereas SC, ST, PwD, and Female candidates are exempted from fee payment.
  • Firstly, candidates have to register themselves followed by filling personal, educational, parental details in the application form, choosing IAS Exam Centers, uploading scanned images and pay application fees.
  • Candidates need to upload their passport size photograph and signature in a specified format and dimension as required by the commission. Check IAS Photo and Signature Requirements
  • Only successfully registered candidates will be issued IAS Admit Card 2020.

How to Apply Online for UPSC IAS 2020 Exam?

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2020 Application Form will be available at the official website from February 12, 2020. Candidates are advised to gather their documents before beginning with the registration process. Steps to be followed to fill the form are given below:

Step 1- UPSC IAS 2020 Registration


1.    Visit the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in

2.    Click on the link â€˜UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020’ under Active Examinations section

3.    Now, enter your name, date of birth, an active mobile number and valid E-mail ID. 

4.    Enter the captcha and click on Submit button. A message will pop up on the screen mentioning your registration number and password. 

Step 2- Fill IAS 2020 Application Form


1.    Log in again using your registration number and password to fill the application form.

2.    Candidates have to fill their Personal, Educational, Parental and Employment details.

3.    There will be six modules, keep saving each module after filling the details.

4.    You can make changes before the final submission. No changes would be possible after the final submission, hence fill IAS 2020 Application Form very carefully

5.    Some of the columns would be auto-filled with details fetched from your registration form.

6.    These details cannot be changed, however, in case of any error, separate representation can be made to the commission.

Step 4: UPSC IAS 2020 Application Fee


1.    Candidates can make the payment through online or offline mode

2.    For online payment, candidates may use credit card/debit card/Rupay card or Internet Banking Services.

3.    For offline payment, download the e-challan and submit fee in cash at SBI bank branches on the next day itself.

4.    Detailed Application Form Fee for examination is INR 100.

5.    After fee payment, download and save the filled-in IAS 2020 Application 
Form.

Note: Female applicants and SC/ST/ PwD category candidates are exempted from paying the fee.

  • The fee can be paid in both offline and online mode.
  • For offline method of fee payment, the candidate must remit the amount in any Branch of SBI.
  • For online options the candidate can opt either for SBI Net Banking facility or for payment through a debit / credit/ rupay card.
  • Candidates paying cash will need to take a print out of the system generated Pay-in-slip.
  • The Pay in Slip is generated during the registration process.
  • Cash must be deposited at the counter of a SBI Branch on the next working day only.
  • Candidates failing to pay the fee by cash by the closing date, despite having valid pay-in-slip, will have to resort to online modes of fee payment.

Candidates are required to assemble the following documents prior to IAS Exam 2020 Registration to ensure accurate and correct data. Any mismatch between the actual information and the registered information will result in cancellation of candidature

IAS 2020 Application Form Guidelines

Following pointers should be kept in mind while registering for IAS . It is of utmost importance to follow the mentioned instructions.
  • The candidate must not impersonate any other person in order to submit a successful application.
  • Offering illegal gratification to a person related to the exam conducting body so as to have their application accepted must not be engaged in.
  • Applying pressure on any member of the exam authority in relation to the application process is strictly prohibited.
  • Threatening or blackmailing any of the authorities is not allowed.
  • Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with as part of the application is prohibited.
  • Candidates must refrain from making incorrect or false statements with regard to their application.
  • Submitting multiple applications should be avoided.
  • In case of multiple applications, the application with higher Registration ID (RID) will be considered.
  • The candidate must ensure that the application with the higher RID is complete in all respects.
  • Care must be taken to provide a valid and active email address at the time of application.

Ques.1 How much time is given to the candidates for applying online?
Ans.1 A candidate gets 3 weeks to 1 month to complete the application procedure.
Ques. 2 What happens if a candidate submits multiple online applications?
Ans.  This must be avoided but, in case of doing so, the data provided in the final application that is successfully submitted online will be accepted by the Commission. All previous applications will be ignored.
Ques.3 When should I apply if I choose to pay by Bank Challan?
Ans.  Candidates, who make payments through Bank Challan, are required to submit the online application at least a day before the notified closing date.
Ques. 4 Can a candidate change the Date of Birth after having submitted the online application?
Ans.  The Commission does not allow change of Date of Birth that has been furnished by a candidate and recorded by the Commission on any ground whatsoever.
Ques. 5 What action is taken by the Commission in case of submission of false information by the candidates?
Ans.  A candidate found to be furnishing false information to the Commission or suppressing information, adopting various unfair means in the examination like impersonation, etc., is liable to be disqualified or debarred from writing IAS Exam as decided by the Commission.
